PREMIER LEAGUE WEEK 26 MATCH STATS,REVIEW AND ANALYSIS

Premier league week 26 match stats :

Saturday,February 21st :

Manchester City 5 - 0 Newcastle

Ok so Chelsea fans lets face this hard truth..............we are scared. The question is WHY ?
(after all we are top on the EPL table)

Manchester City are back on track, after (recently) struggling (to keep up with Chelsea at the top of the Premier league result table) in their previous Premier league matches in the absence of SUPERMAN midfielder Yaya Toure (who went to represent his home country in the AFCON 2015 competition)

They effortlessly beat Newcastle in this game to a 5-0 victory, while the Chelsea side disappointingly drew 1-1 against bottom struggling side Burnley. They are now 5 points below the Premier league top spot which Chelsea currently occupies

This is the 2nd time Manchester City have scored 3+ goals within a very short time interval in the Premier league history (21 minutes). The 1st was 7 minutes v Burnley in April 2010

City's David Silva was involved in 3 goals in this game (2 goals and 1 assist),the first time for him in a single Premier league game

Sergio Aguero has scored in 5 of his 7 Premier league appearances for his club against Newcastle

Aston Villa 1 - 2 Stoke City

Aston Villa have failed to win in any of  their previous 11 league games, maybe it's because they are always given red cards in their games.

They are the only Premier league team to have acquired more red cards in matches played in the Premier league this season (a whooping 6 red cards!!!)

Villa's Scott Sinclair scored with a header in this game, his 1st since August 2012

Stoke City's manager; John Gregory is the last permanent manager to win his 1st league game against Aston Villa

Chelsea 1 - 1 Burnley

In this this game,Chelsea conceded from a corner, the 2nd for them in the Premier league all season

They have luckily kept 16 clean sheets in their last 20 home games (kudos!)

Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas is the only Premier league player to have the most assists in the Premier league this season (he has assisted in 15 goals for the club)

Ivanovic has now scored 4 goals in 6 matches for his club (Chelsea)

This is the 2nd time for Burnley to draw against a top-flight team this season, the 1st was (2-2) against Manchester City in late December

Danny Ings has scored in 5 of his last 6 matches for Burnley

Crystal Palace 1 - 2 Arsenal

Palace's Yannick Bolaise made his 100th appearance for the club in this game in all competitions

Arsenal have won 14 of the 26 Premier league matches they have played this season.

Their recent consecutive wins have now seen them progress to the 3rd place on the Barclays Premier league result table, dramatically moving a step above their usual 4th place.

Problem is will this last?

Will Arsenal be consistent and prove themselves to be unmovable like the Chelsea side who have been top since the start of this season ?

Will they maintain this position (and maybe overtake City and Chelsea),or will they enjoy this new position for just this week, seeing that there is just 1 and 2 points differences between them and Manchester United (4th place) and Southampton (5th place) respectively.

All I can say for now is; lets keep our hopes high, our fingers crossed and watch as the Premier league battle moves into the 27th week

Oliver Giroud in this game, scored his 50th goal for Arsenal in all competitions

Carzola has scored more penalties in the Premier league this season, more than any other player in the Premier league

Hull City 2 - 1 QPR

Hull City have conceded more goals from outside the penalty area than any other team in the Premier league this season

Their victory in this game earned them a 2nd consecutive league win (their 1st back to back win since September 2013)

N'Doye has now scored 2 goals in 2 appearances for Hull City

QPR's Matt Phillips has assisted more goals in 2 of his previous 3 appearances for the club

Charlie Austin is now the highest goal scoring Englishman in the Premier league this season

Joey Barton is surely one rough player to watch out for in the Premier league. He has gathered for himself a total of 8 cards (7 yellow and 1 red) in his last 8 Premier league appearances this season

Sunderland 0 - 0 West Brom

Suderland have scored just 6 goals in their last 9 Premier league home games

West Brom on the other hand, have collected more wins against Sunderland than any other opponent in the Premier league history

Swansea 2 - 1 Manchester United

3 of the last 4 meetings between Swansea and Manchester United have ended in a 2-1 victory in favor of Swansea

Of all points Swansea have had in their club history, about 6 of them have come from Manchester United

Swansea's victory in this game is the 2nd victory they have had in 8 league matches

This is the 1st defeat Manchester United have suffered in their last 5 outings

It took Wayne Rooney 560 minutes of play to attempt his 1st shot on target in 2015

Sunday,February 22nd :

Southampton 0 - 2 Liverpool

Southampton have been among the top-flight teams this season, but it's so unfortunate that they have had a victory in only 1 game in their previous 4 Premier league matches and have also had only 1 goal in 4 games

They are the only Premier league team not to concede a penalty this season

This is the 5th time in a row for Liverpool to have kept a clean sheet in an away game

Liverpool are now 2 points behind Manchester United,8 points lesser than they were after the boxing day fixtures

Mario Balotelli has now scored 27 out of 29 penalties for both club and country

Everton 2 - 2 Leicester City

Everton are the only Premier league team to have made more errors (13) leading directly to a goal

Had they won in this game, they could have ended a run of not winning a home game since mid December

Everton's midfielder Naismith scored his 6th league goal of the campaign in this game

 Tottenham 2 - 2 West Ham

Truth be told,Tottenham have had high hopes this season, since they have remained unbeaten at home in the top-flight since November, but the draw they had in this game was surely a huge blow to them.

Do they still have hopes of gaining a UEFA Champions league spot this season?
Let's keep watching the Premier league games to find out

They are the only Premier league team to have recovered the joint-most points from losing positions

West Ham are the only Premier league team to have scored the most headed goals (15) this season

This is the 4th time this season for West Ham to draw in a game, after leading at some point

West Ham's Harry Kane scored his 4th goal of the season in this game
