NPFL NEWS : AWKA UNITED WOULD MISS ISONG ISANG






I’m receding from Akwa United Board - Isong Isang


Awka United boss Obong Isong Isang has resigned his post as Chairman after 7 years in charge of the Uyo based Nigeria Professional Football League due to health reasons.

In an emergency board meeting, Mr Uko Akpabio, who is a member of the board of Akwa United and brother to the state governor, said the committee have accepted Mr Isang's decision in 'good faith' and applauded him for his tremendous contributions.

According to the statement, :The executive board of Akwa United has unanimously appointed Nse Ubeh;vice chairman of the team,as the acting chairman with immediate effect.

"We commend the outgoing chairman Isang for his leadership qualities and for also ensuring that the team remains in the elite division of the Nigeria league in the past few years."

Ubeh who also expressed gratitude at his appointment,promised not to disappoint the state government, management and fans of the club in his role.

"I thank the members of the board for the confidence repose on me,I assure everyone that I will work with the board, stakeholders and fans to take the club to greater height,"
