Manchester City have denied claims that an agreement was already in place for the Bayern boss to take over from Manuel Pellegrini at the club,as there were claims in the Middle East that Guardiola was on his way to City after a verbal agreement was reached.
But a City official said: “That claim is nonsense and we completely dismiss this report.”
City insist that Pellegrini, 61, will continue as their manager.
Guardiola who is Abu Dhabi-owned City’s top choice to succeed Pelligrini has always insisted he will honour his contract in Munich, which has another year to run.
His Bayern team, though, face another beating this week against his old club Barca.
They go into the second leg of their Champions League semi-final 3-0 down.
