The Super Eagles of Nigeria got their World Cup qualifying campaign on a bright note as they defeated Zambia 2-1 to pick up their 1st ever away victory against the South Africans.
Arsenal's Alex Iwobi and Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho put Nigeria ahead with 2 1st-half goals (in the 33rd and 43rd minutes respectively).
In the 70th minute a fine finish from Zambia’s Mbesuma set up a tensed atmosphere in the game, but Nigeria were able to hold on to claim all 3 points and move top in Group B.
