Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho could sell the club's number 1 goal keeper Petr Cech this summer as the club has so far been unable to do away with both Fernando Torres and John Obi Mikel.
Numerous teams are reportedly interested in 32-year-old Cech, including French giants Monaco, Italian side AC Milan and Real Madrid. .
The Portuguese coach is keen to avoid a repeat scenario of what happened at his former club Real Madrid, where long-serving ‘keeper Iker Casillas was dropped to the bench in favour of Diego Lopez, causing a huge amount of unrest at the Bernabeu.
Petr Cech seeing that henceforth he may have to struggle for the club's No 1 position, has this to say:
'I don't want to be on the bench, this is why I am trying to do everything to be in the team'.
'I don't want to talk about ifs and buts,so let's see how I am going and what happens'.
'You know I
always give my best and obviously that is all I can do. I will do my
best and do everything I can do to be as ready as possible for when the
season starts'.
'Obviously
Jose Mourinho will make his choice and decide how his team is going to
look for the first game, second game, third game, whatever game'.
'It
is up to us players to show we are ready to play and make him pick us. I
am not any different. I am doing everything I can to make him pick me.'
Well,to the best of my knowledge,Mourinho has decided that Thibaut Courtois will be his number one goalkeeper from the start of next season - and has equally put Petr Cech on the transfer list.
Are you a Chelsea fan ? Which of the goalkeepers would you prefer to be the club's No 1?
