Leicester FC's decision to sack manager Claudio Ranieri; wise or a mistake they might regret?

Leicester City announced on Thursday that they have sacked their manager, Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri took up the Leicester job in 2015 and stunned the world by leading Leicester to the Premier League title last season.

Unfortunately, Leicester have replicated their struggles of 2014/15 this campaign,
with only 5 wins all season and just 1 point from their last 6 Premier League matches, they are just 1 place and 1 point above the relegation zone.

Leicester vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said in a statement;

“This has been the most difficult decision we have had to make in nearly 7 years since King Power took ownership of Leicester City,”
“But we are duty-bound to put the club’s long-term interests above all sense of personal sentiment, no matter how strong that might be.”

The club's assistant manager Craig Shakespeare and first-team coach Mike Stowell will take charge until a new manager is appointed.
