Finally the much talked about UEFA champions league has come and gone,and Carlos Ancelotti's side have been crowned Europe's champions,after securing a 4 - 1 victory against Simeone's side Atletico Madrid.
Real Madrid's victory as champions have won for their coach Ancelotti Europe's top prize,thereby making him the most successful coach in the modern tournament's history.
The funny thing about this match is the fact that Simeone's side, (Atletico) almost became the European champions last night,as the score line was to their advantage till almost the end of the match.
Interestingly,the Real Madrid side had to show that they were they were the master of the game.They were first rescued by Ramos,who scored their first goal and forced the match into extra time (where the Madrid side shone like stars,and their fans let out shouts of joy.hmm finally).
10 minutes of the extra time remaining and Gareth Bale did it for the Madrid side (2nd goal for Real),after which Marcelo scored the third goal,(that was like a seal that the Real side had won).
Am sure so many Real fans must have thought the fun was over,but no,not yet for the world's best player had not got a goal from this interesting match.
About 3 minutes after the third goal,Ronaldo put the ice on the cake of the real side by scoring the 4th and final goal (shouts,shouts shout from Real fans and supporters).
Now have you sat and wondered why Atleti held on for so long during the game, and decided to flop in the extra minutes?
For me i think it may be as a result of tiredness or poor defending o maybe even refusal to counter-attack their opponents.
Some persons may have even blamed coach Simeone for starting Diego Costa in the first half, afterall he limped off the pitch about 9 minutes into the game (as a result of his injury) and was replaced by Lopez.
But then Atletico Madrid should not be too sad, because they really put in their best even though they do not have the best of players.Besides they won the La Liga title and are the currrent La Liga champions (that's something).
Finally, congratulations to Real Madrid their victory and I wish them the best as they enjoy their title as the champions of Europe.
