Arsenal duo Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker have been nominated for the German Football Ambassador prize, which is awarded to the best German footballer playing in a foreign league.
Also among the nominees are :
Lukas Podolski, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan,
Real Madrid star Toni Kroos.
Lazio striker Miroslav Klose,
Dinamo Moscow's Kevin Kuranyi,
Shkodran Mustafi of Valencia
Cerezo Osaka forward Cacau
Anja Mittag of Rosengard
Nadine Angerer of Portland Thorns and
Brisbane Roar midfielder Thomas Broich.
The award is decided by a public vote and fans from any country can choose their three favourites.
The winner will be announced on June 2nd.
