Breaking news : Wayne Rooney dr opped by Southgate for Slovenia clash

England captain Wayne Rooney is set to be dropped for England's upcoming clash against Slovenia, according.

Truthfully, Rooney has not been impressive lately and he struggled in the 2-0 victory over Malta on Saturday, with a section of supporters at Wembley jeering the Three Lions' all-time record goalscorer.

He may now have to settle for a place among the substitutes as England coach, Gareth Southgate prepares to field a midfield duo of Eric Dier and Jordan Henderson in Ljubljana.

Although fans are reacting negatively on this, Rooney seem to have come to terms with Southgate's decision;

"I understand and respect the manager's decision. I will support the players 100%. I will be ready if needed".

Wayne Rooney is the 3rd player to score the most goals international goals (53), after Messi (56) and Ronaldo (56)
